A message from Mickey Hightower (edited)

There is a change in venue!  The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Old Town Alexandria will be hosting WIS 2014. The Crowne Plaza is a member of the IHG Hospitality group that also owns Holiday Inn. Members of the IHG Rewards program will be able to get points on their program. Room rates will be $139 + taxes for King Single Rates / $149 + taxes for Double Rates.  WIS members will receive reduced parking rates from $20 to $15 for overnight parking, complimentary guest room internet with IHG Rewards sign up.

The Crowne Plaza Old Town Alexandria is located 2 miles from Reagan National Airport & 5 miles from Washington, DC. Some rooms have views of the Potomac River. The hotel is a short walk from the shops & historic homes on Alexandria's waterfront. Additionally, the hotel offers complimentary shuttles to DCA/Reagan Airport, Metro/Subway, & King Street.

On another note, as we all know, prices for everything have risen consistently over the last several years; however, we have tried to hold the line and keeps costs to a minimum in order to continue to provide a pleasant experience for our WIS members, guests, & attendees. Compensation factors including speakers’ fees, speakers’ travel reimbursement transportation costs, event / facilities costs, buses, meals, etc all put an upward pressure on seminar costs. Unfortunately, this year we will have to raise our seminar price to better reflect this upward trend. The 2014 Seminar will be $525 per attendee. As usual, we will offer a 3 payment system of $175 in order to accommodate our members & guests. I am putting together the mailer to be sent out shortly.

Our members will be able to get the seminar rate for 3 days prior to and 3 days after the seminar for those that might want to come early or stay later.
